How can you have eternal life?

It is priceless to know that you will go to be with the Lord when you die. There is freedom and peace when you know that your sins have been forgiven. The following information briefly presents how you can receive the gift of eternal life.

1. God’s purpose: God loves you and wants you to have eternal life with Him in the future as well as an abundant life now.

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16)

(Jesus is speaking) “I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.” (John 10:10)

2. Our problem: All people have sinned. Your sin separates you from God and from God’s blessings.

“All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” (Romans 3:23)

For the wages of sin is death (separation from God), but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 6:23)

3. God’s solution: Jesus died on the cross to pay for your sins and to make a way for you and God no longer to be separated.

“But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8)

“Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.'” (John 14:6)

4. The result: God wants to give you the gift of eternal life and to save you from the penalty of your sins because He loves you.

All God asks you to do to be saved is to trust Jesus Christ for what He has done and to receive the gift of eternal life He offers you.

(Jesus is speaking) “Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.” (Revelation 3:20)

You can receive the gift of eternal life by praying the following prayer sincerely:

God, I know that I am a sinner, I know Jesus Christ died to forgive and remove my sins. Right now I ask Jesus to come into my life and to forgive me of my sins. I thank Him for what He has done and for forgiving me. Amen.
